DESCRIPTION OF WORKS

The Western Australian Department of Education engaged Royal Life Saving WA in January 2021 to oversee a series of Equipotential Bonding tests that were conducted by a qualified Electrician and School Pool Safety Assessments that were conducted by Royal Life Saving WA across the Department’s 52 sites with aquatic facilities.

  • These reviews assessed all sites against the following key documents:

  • The Western Australian Department of Health’s Code of Practice for the Design, Construction, Operation and Management of Aquatic Facilities 2020,

  • The Royal Life Saving Australia Guidelines for Safe Pool Operations, and.

  • AS 3000:2018 – Electrical Installations

  • This project identified a need for remediation works across a number of school pool sites, particularly in relation to the adequacy and performance of Equipotential Bonding of each facility.
